Why choosing is the hard part
Streaming services offer thousands of films, and the usual result is that nobody picks one. More options make the choice harder, not easier, because every option you consider is one more thing the film you finally choose has to beat. Cutting the list to three removes most of that.
How to use it with a group
- Draw three, vote once — no second round, no reopening it.
- Veto rule — everyone gets one veto, then you take what comes.
- Draw one — the strict version. Whatever comes up is what you watch.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the film list come from?
A hand-checked list of well-known films across several decades, countries and genres. It is deliberately not a list of new releases, because a random draw is most useful for finding something you missed rather than something you already saw advertised.
Can I filter by genre?
Not yet. Each result shows its genre, so drawing five and picking the one that fits the mood works well in practice. A genre filter is on the list.
Is the result really random?
It is drawn by a seeded random number generator, which means the draw is unpredictable but repeatable. Press Generate again for a fresh seed and a completely different set.
