How NYT Connections Works

In NYT Connections, players must group 16 words into 4 distinct sets of 4 words each. Each group shares a specific relationship, categorized by difficulty:

  • 🟨 Yellow: Straightforward connections (most direct).
  • 🟩 Green: Moderate difficulty.
  • 🟦 Blue: Challenging wordplay or trivia.
  • 🟪 Purple: The trickiest category (often rhymes, puns, or missing word prefixes).

Beware of traps! The puzzle maker intentionally includes 5 or 6 words that appear to fit one theme to test your deduction skills.
